For over 19 years, our aim has been to make higher education accessible for the working student. Since 1991, thousands of students have overcome the challenges of balancing family, work and finances to earn their degrees and enhance their lives. IAMI provides a wide range of courses on complementary and alternative medicine at the associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral levels. Each degree is a combination of academic theory and practical application. Holistic health is based on the law of nature that a whole is made up of interdependent parts. If life is to be sustained, they cannot be separated. For what is happening to one is also felt by all of the other systems. An individual is a whole made up of interdependent parts, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. From a holistic perspective, transforming our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual condition is an interdependent experience. A programme of study in alternative medicine includes courses in Acupuncture, Chinese medicine, physiology and numerous body therapy disciplines. Here in IAMI most programmes place strong emphasis on basic science and fundamental holistic skills. Students who choose not to go Post Bachelor’s degree find entry-level careers in Holistic Medicine. It all started in 1991 when IAMI first came into existence. Today it is a globally renowned and recognized institution registered by the Government of W.B. under Act XXVI of 1961, based on the central Government Act. XXI of 1860 Literacy & Scientific Institution Act (1854), and affiliated to: The Open International University for Complimentary Medicine, Established under W.H.O., recognized by: The United Nation Peace University, constituted under resolution No. 35/XII/80 of 88. The main activities of IAMI have always been towards building a smart planet and have time to live in it too. Few places offer as many opportunities as IAMI does to gain knowledge for outstanding performance.   Our activities include:- · Conducting a huge range of medical & paramedical courses in regular, correspondence and distance basis. · Keeping health-oriented people abreast of current trends and developments in the field of Alternative Medicine through publication of books, journals, souvenirs, magazines etc. · Conducting health camps and training sessions to promote alternative medicine globally. · Engaging in a number of philanthropic and charitable activities through collaboration with medical and social organizations. · Providing support and sponsoring education of needy students. Rendering assistance during natural calamities through distribution of medicine and food supplies. · Reaching a wide range of global citizenry through spreading knowledge and work towards eradicating ignorance and illness by conducting courses through many colleges affiliated with us. There are more than 125 colleges so far across the globe, which are affiliated with us. · Acknowledging support and contribution to Holistic Medicinal Practice and conferring awards to deserving candidates by the hand of dignitaries at ministry level in association with foreign bodies like WHO, UNESCO etc. · Providing detailed information about practitioners through our website and a voluminous international directory. · Arranging seminars, convocations, conferences to ensure exchange of knowledge and maintenance of global standard of the council.
